There are two types of members in IDCBA.  Club and Individuals.

Any individual who lives in the State of Illinois may submit an Individual member application.  Every applicant must also sign the IDCBA Code of Ethics, and show the signatures of two existing members in good standing. 

Any club based in the State of Illinois may submit a Club Member Application.    Click here to download a PDF version of the CLUB MEMBER APPLICATION.  The signature of an Officer of the club is required.

Annual Membership Fee for both types of memberships is $45. 

In additiona, you may also pick up either an individual member or a club application, by coming to an IDCBA event (see info on Matches).

IDCBA Code of Ethics (Individual)

I, the undersigned, will agree to follow and abide by the Code of Ethics stated below:

1. To maintain the best possible standards of health and data of my dogs and to sell only those dogs who are in good health and condition at that time. I agree to stand behind the dogs I sell whether they be of my breeding or not. I also agree to keep and pass on accurate health, breeding, and registration records at the time of the sale or shortly thereafter.

2. It is recommended that all terms of agreement pertaining to sales, leases, whelping and breeding of dogs should be kept in writing.

3. I agree NOT to sell, donate, give or place any dogs to pet shops, wholesale dealers, contest sponsors or to give to any breeder or individual who I feel will not properly care for, or breed responsibly. And I will not place dogs with anyone who may expolit dogs.

4. I agree to advertise and present my dogs in an honest and forthright manner.

5. I agree to help educate and assist new owners of my dogs and to be available to counsel them as problems may arise.

6. I agree to receive back dogs of my breeding or to assist the new owners if it becomes necessary to place my dogs in an additional home.
